Ciby Kallingal, a graduate in commerce is a young recognized progressive farmer of Pananchery Grama Panchayat in Thrissur district of Kerala. Kallingal Plantation inherited by Ciby with the grandiose coconut trees in the lower slopes of the Vellani forests was the basic asset on which Ciby built up his beautiful mixed farm. His wife Sopna and their two children, support him in his farming activities.
In Kallingal farm Mr. Ciby is maintaining nearly 1000 coconut palms comprising 6 types. The diversity of coconut includes West Coast Tall, Kuttiyadi local, Chowghat Orange Dwarf, Chowghat Green Dwarf and number of DXT and TXD palms. Planting materials of these cultivars are produced and supplied to the needy farmers. Along the boundaries of the farm Kasargodan , Mohitnagar, Mangala, Sumangala, Vittal Teerthahalli arecanut palms are also maintained. The best collection of nutmeg is the main attraction of Kallingal Plantation. These nutmeg types were collected from all over Kerala, through a field exploration.
